Possible Release Date
According to AndroidGuys’ blog, there is an official design for the T-Mobile HTC Dream G1 phone, and he provides drawings. Further Live Crunch has compiled a list of specs for the HTC Dream, along with which he has a rumoured release date of 16 September for the HTC Dream G1.
For me, as a user (as opposed to a techie), the main thing will be ease of use. For instance, they are saying that the Dream will have a dedicated camera button, a 5 Row QWERTY keypad, and a trackball. If the first two are as good as the ones currently on T-Mobile’s Sidekick, and if the trackball is actually usable by people with normal-sized fingers, I will be a happy user.
What I am really hoping for, however, is that the Dream will have abilities that my current phone (a Palm Centro) does, since the main reason I got the Centro was that the Sidekick did not have an easily manageable to do list or memo capability. I am hoping, therefore, that either the pre-loaded apps for the Dream, or some of the apps that will be available for purchase will handle these items for me, because I would love to be able to switch back to T-Mobile.
Whether it has the features I need or not, however, the Dream is coming. and coming soon. I can’t wait to see it for real, and see if it will have (or have available) the features I want!
